From The Greens
Welcome to our new Grounds Superintendent Craig Walker who started on Monday. Each week we will give a brief update on how things are going with both the golf course and bowling greens:
The greens were fertilised on Monday in an effort speed up recovery from renovations. It may be necessary to give them a light top dressing in about two weeks if they don’t respond as hoped.
All fairway and greenside bunker faces have been weeded, refaced and sand depth checked.
It is planned to start irrigation trench repairs next week and it is expected that over seeding of these tranches will take place in late July early August weather dependant.
The three bowling greens were handed over to the club for surface maintenance on Wednesday. That means the green staff will now look after cutting, fertilising and weed control until they are ready for play.
Please note that email addresses at the club have changes and are now as follows:
Tom Cowlard – firstname.lastname@example.org
Lyn Kent – email@example.com
Important Safety Notice: Players are not permitted to access the VOS Construction fenced area alongside the 11th fairway, and behind the 9th and 18th greens to retrieve golf balls. If a player’s ball enters this area, a replacement ball must be played at either, line of entry or from the respective drop zones without penalty. (GUR)
