It is pleasing to report that the Project remains on target as we head into spring. As can be seen, a great deal of work has been completed on the outside of the building, and the work on the interior of the club is going well. It was hoped to have a few photographs to show of the interior progress but unfortunately this has not been possible as there is still a fair amount of building material in the way.
The Board continues to work on the various aspects of club operations and as soon as more information is available, members will be informed.
As we are now out of winter the bar hours at the two venues will be reviewed, especially as Bowls is about to start up again for the 2019/20 season. The Sevens season will be starting up in early October. There will be a few new faces behind the bars as we will need to cover all the new shifts as required.
It was hoped to open the 10th hole at the end of September, however after a review of the tee bed, fairway and surrounds, it is now likely that the hole will only be opened at the end of October, depending on the weather conditions over the next two months. More information will be given later.
A big thankyou to Bev Naiker, Julie Phillips and Jill Almond who recently looked after the Devonport Country Club stand at the recent Wedding Expo. They did a great job in promoting the function centre to the public and we have since received several enquiries for weddings in 2020 and 2021. Thanks, must also go to our sponsor T&M Weddings who decorated the display for us. Anne-Marie has always been a great help to us in the past and we look forward to a long and lasting relationship in the new facility.
