Glen “Boxer” Stephens has been involved with sporting clubs practically all his life. Glen’s most recent roles were Secretary and Treasurer of the North West Tasmania Bowls Association (NWTBA) from 1993 to 2014, retiring from these positions with the transition to Bowls North West. Glen still has an administrative role with Bowls North West as a member of their Match Committee.
Glen was a past President of the Spreyton Cricket Club, Mersey Valley Cricket Association and the Spreyton Bowls Club. He has been awarded Life Membership to all these sporting bodies .and is pictured right when he received his Bowls Club Life Membership.
Glen was a foundation member of the Spreyton Bowls Club when it commenced in 1984. Glen was also the Secretary of the Maidstone Park Development Committee for some 18 years in the 1970’s and 80’s during the major developments that was happening at that time at Maidstone Park.
Glen retired from the workforce as Manager of Pioneer Concrete in 1998, a position he held for some 21 years. Prior to that Glen was manager for Stones Concrete for some 6 years and also worked for the HEC as Concrete Inspector during construction of the Mersey Forth Scheme.
Now a Transitional Board Member, Boxer brings much business and club experience to our Board. He was also a member of the Steering Committee.
