Congratulations to 17 year old Devonport bowler Ashlee Woolley who teamed up with fellow Tasmanians Alana Cornish, Alanna Kalbfell and Logyn Curtis to win the silver medal for Tasmania at the recent Australian Under 18 Championships in Bendigo Victoria. This was Ashlee’s first National’s competition.
Ashlee also fell just one shot short of playing off for the bronze medal in the girl’s triples alongside Jorja Maughan and Kalbfell.
She was the lead in both fours and triples which really suited Ashlee as her strength is her draw shot.
Ashlee has been playing with Devonport Country Club Eagles Saturday pennant side in the third division of the Bowls North West competition. This was also her swansong as a Junior.
Ashley has been nominated for the Advocate/Coles Junior Sports Awards in the female Athlete of the Year category and we wish her good luck in the awards and also with her future sporting interests.
