The Steering Committee along with the Board is pleased to report once again that the project remains on time and is expecting to run a few soft opening events from mid-December 2019. The Board has appointed MiClub and Positive Outcomes to supply and install the new membership, golf and POS systems which is necessary for the increased membership and operations. The work on building this data base has started and the system should be ready for operation by December. The new Sports Shop fit out has been awarded to Transform Specialists and the fit out of the shop should also be complete by December. Work has also commenced on setting up the staff and operational structures of for events, the kitchen and bar.
We have commenced our club promotion through SeaFM and 7AD and shortly we will be undertaking a letter box drop in the vicinity of the Club. The Steering Committee continues to meet regularly with the governing bodies of Golf Tasmania, Bowls Tasmania and the national bodies to ensure that we are on their events’ schedule.
The annual audit by Camerons has been completed and the Board has locked in Thursday 14th November for the 2019 AGM. The AGM will be held at the Bowls venue in North Fenton Street starting at 7pm.
The Opening of the 10th hole has now been set for Sunday 17th November at 12 noon. Details of the event will be released in the next few days.
The long-awaited laying of the indoor bowling green surface has commenced and should be completed within the next week or two.
Members will have seen a new face around both venues recently (well known to some). Tally Wainwright has come on board as a casual to help with the transition to the new club and will be involved in various areas from working behind the bar to covering for Lyn so she can have a few days off. She will be a general all-rounder at this point.
