The 16th annual Prostate Cancer Charity Golf Day, conducted by the Rotary Club of Devonport North was held at the Devonport Country Club on Sunday October 27. A capacity field of 144 players took part in the 4 Person Ambrose event. The event this year raised over $8200, which takes the total amount raised to $115,000. The winning team this year was “Bunch of Chooks” with a very impressive score of 51.375. The winning team members were Anthony Guilbert, Frederic Guilbert, Zachary Guilbert and Jarod Leslie. The second-place team was Winc with a score of 54.875. The Winc team members were Adrian Mann, Peter Nielsen, Greg Wilson and Steve Crawford.

Approximately fifty Devonport Country Club golf members and partners gathered last Friday for the Club Championship Presentation Dinner. It was pleasing that the Championship Sponsors ‘’Just For You Homewares’ were able to be in attendance and present trophies. Perpetual Trophies and personal awards were made to all Club Champions and Pennant Players by the section Captains Simon Payton, Gil Graham and Bev Naiker as follows:

Most Consistent Ladies Pennant Players were Division 1 – Bev Naiker, Division 2 – Judy Webster and Division 3 - Pat O’Donnell. Judy Webster won the Dot Barrington Trophy for the most consistent pennant player overall.

The Mens pennant player of the year was awarded to Michael Allford.

The Torque Cup, handicap match play trophy was awarded to Grady Boxhall with runner up being Peter Nielsen.
