Popular Devonport Country Club member, John Beattie was a very happy golfer on the 11th January. During the members single stableford at the club he managed to ace his tee shot on the par three 130 meter 9th hole. Using a 26 deg hybrid club with a bit of wind assist he hit the perfect shot that landed on the green and rolled straight into the hole. Beattie did not see the ball go into the hole, but his playing partners gave him a running commentary as the ball took off from the tee. It was Beattie’s first hole in one since he started playing golf as a junior.
