General Info & Coming Events

 

Play 9: Every Sunday, Monday, Wednesday PM, Friday. $5 comp fee and prizes for the best weekly score. All scores go through for Play 9 qualification.

 

Friday Evenings: Every Friday evening between 4:30pm and 7:00pm both club bars (Caddyshack and Devonport Bowls & Croquet) will be open – It would be great to see members supporting one of the venues.  Visitors are very welcome.

 

Saturday Counter Teas: Saturday 20th July meals will be served at Devonport Bowls from 5:30 to 7:30. Everybody Welcome. Next Week's MENU to be Advised.

 

Firewood: The Monday volunteer gang have been working very hard, and have stacked  a lot of blocked semi-dry firewood for sale. There is 36 cu/mt  available for sale at $60 cu/mt to Country Club members. To order please contact the Office. Please don't help yourself to un-stacked firewood, All stacks are allocated once payment is made to the office.

 

Golf Course:

 

A fair amount of damage to fences and trees was caused by the storm last week. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped in the clean-up process and the repairs to the fence.

 

No. 3 Fairway - New drain pipes were installed in the drain and covered. Rehabilitation of the surface will now be done.  

 

Irrigation Tasmania are currently tiding up and back-filling the irrigation trenches, as well as testing and commissioning the irrigation system. It is planned that the full hand over and training will take place around the first week in August.

 

The front bunkers on No. 6 have been taken away in accordance with the Master Plan.  

 

Bowling Greens:

 

No Updates – surface maintenance continues.

      

Croquet Lawns:

Important Safety Notice: Players are not permitted to access the VOS Construction fenced area alongside the 11th fairway, and behind the 9th and 18th greens to retrieve golf balls. If a player’s ball enters this area, a replacement ball must be played at either, line of entry or from the respective drop zones without penalty. (GUR)
